Introduction to Finnish Law and legal culture
Nuotio Kimmo, Melander Sakari, Huomo-Kettunen Merita,Finnish law is part of Nordic law, a family of systems which has not always been easy to locate in the families conventionally recognized in comparative law. Perhaps more interesting than the issue of classification itself, is the mentality revealed and embodied by the national legal system. Not only is law a product of society, history and politics, but it also carries many marks and traces of issues beyond the law itself. Legal thinking is increasingly international. Nevertheless, we may perhaps still see vestiges of typical national approaches, which can be used to deepen our comparative understanding.

Collective Investment Schemes In Luxembourg: Law and Practice. Second edition
Claude Kremer, Isabelle Lebbe, his book is the only analysis of the legal regime governing collective investments in the important financial centre of Luxembourg. Written by expert practitioners from a leading funds practice, it provides a detailed, comprehensive, and practical account of the regulation and operation of investment funds under Luxembourg law. Beginning with a definition of undertakings of collective investment funds and a description of the background to the relevant legislation, the authors go on to provide a detailed account of how undertakings for collective investments are classified and how they operate in practice. Covering all relevant EU Directives including the UCITS Directives, Prospectus Directive, MiFID, and the Savings Directive, the authors also consider the application of these Directives under Luxembourg law. The latest developments on the AIFM Directive are also addressed.

Legal Education: Simulation in Theory and Practice
Caroline Strevens, Richard Grimes, Edward Phillips,The importance of simulation in education, specifically in legal subjects, is here discussed and explored within this innovative collection. Demonstrating how simulation can be constructed and developed for learning, teaching and assessment, the text argues that simulation is a pedagogically valuable and practical tool in teaching the modern law curriculum. With contributions from law teachers within the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa and the USA, the authors draw on their experiences in teaching law in the areas of clinical legal education, legal process, evidence, criminal law, family law and employment law as well as teaching law to non-law students. They claim that simulation, as a form of experiential and problem-based learning, enables students to integrate the ’classroom’ experience with the real world experiences they will encounter in their professional lives. This book will be of relevance not only to law teachers but university teachers generally, as well as those interested in legal education and the theory of law.
