The national human rights centre of the republic of Uzbekistan: 2005-2011

From the very beginning of state independence our country defined the problem of protection and promotion of human rights and creation of al' necessary conditions for their realizaiton as the priority purpose. A. significant role in realization of gradual and systemic policy of Uzbekistan on protection of civil and political rights in Uzbekistan belongs to the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this brochure the legal basis, structure, basic directions of the activity of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan are considered. The present brochure is intended both for specialists on human rights and for all those who are interested in issues of human rights.

The universal decleration of human rights and the national system of protection of human rights in Uzbekistan

The main results achieved by the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of promotion, observance and protection of human rights and freedoms during the years of Independence are considered in this book which is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Analysis of the main principles and directions of state policy in the field of human rights and freedoms, formation and development of the legislative and institutional basis providing human rights and freedoms in Uzbekistan allow the reader to see in reality the highest level impact of provisions of Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international documents on creation of the effective national system of human rights and freedoms protection in Uzbekistan.

Candidature of the republic of Uzbekistan to the human rights council 2021-2023

However, so far, Uzbekistan has not been a member of the Human Rights Council. Being deeply committed to the promotion of human rights and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Uzbekistan hopes for further support and trust from the international community in its efforts to promote human rights both at the regional and international levels, including in the context of the Human Rights Council.
