Artificial Intelligence in Education Supporting Learning through Intelligent and Socially Informed Technology
The 12 th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED-2005) is being held July 18–22, 2005, in Amsterdam, the beautiful Dutch city near the sea. AIED-2005 is the latest in an on-going series of biennial conferences in AIED dating back to the mid-1980’s when the field emerged from a synthesis of artificial intelligence and education research.

Decision Making: A Psychophysics Application Of Network Science
This invaluable book captures the proceedings of a workshop that brought together a group of distinguished scientists from a variety of disciplines to discuss how networking influences decision making. The individual lectures interconnect psychological testing, the modeling of neuron networks and brain dynamics to the transport of information within and between complex networks. Of particular importance was the introduction of a new principle that governs how complex networks talk to one another — the Principle of Complexity Management (PCM). PCM establishes that the transfer of information from a stimulating complex network to a responding complex network is determined by how the complexity indices of the two networks are related. The response runs the gamut from being independent of the perturbation to being completely dominated by it, depending on the complexity mismatch.

Eleventh Scandinavian Conference on Artificial Intelligence SCAI 2011
The conference is organised by NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, together with NAIS, the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Society. This year’s program consists of three invited speakers, two tutorials and a three day conference. Less than half of the papers submitted to the conference were accepted for oral presentation; an additional 20% of the submissions were accepted as “short papers”, which also included a poster presentation.
